Forgiving

We always wish others will forgive our mistakes. Very often when it's our turn to forgive, we tend not to let some go easily. Some, came up with one hundred and one reasons why they couldn't forgive someone easily. For the good of everyone lah! we must stand firm on our principles lah! Hum...... have we forget when did we stand by our principles as mistakes were created by us. So many times, we just leave things along and hope that it will faded away without even saying SORRY!!

It is always easy to give excuse to ourselves and not to find one for others..........

Paintings of my heart?

Allan invited Mr Goh CK to do a write up for my solo show. I knew Mr Goh when I was a undergraduate. At the time, I always catch up with him in a coffee shop near Bras Basah Complex. He is a knowledgable person indeed. He is well read and his interests are across boundaries. Very often he will share what he discovered with people around him.

Without fail, he has further enlightened me during this interview. As we were discussing about art and art trends, he emphasised the importance of being oneself! He said an artist can be someone who created his works through his hands, his mind or his heart! Although using hands and minds are equally vital, but it is the heart that made one's work great! Surely I strongly feel the same.

Will leopard change it's spot?

"A leopard will never change it's spot!" This is a phrase that I heard often. If a leopard ever change it's spot, she is likely to become a Tiger (still thirst for blood) or being a domestic Cat (still naughty at times).

Very often we wish people around to change for the best, many times we just want them to change instantly, forgetting that to domesticate a leopard needs generations of effort! We are often packed with unrealistic expectations. As we are running short of time, we always want to achieve success in a flash! We put in some effort to make things work and yet we think we already work very hard. For the past few months, I heard a number of success stories. Not to my surprise, behind every success stories, there are some level of hard period that ones required to pass through! None, as I know that things are easily walk through. I wonder if anyone actually have easy success stories around?

Two sides

There are always 2 sides of a coin. It is like right and wrong, positive and negative, good and bad, the YIN and the YANG!

The important thing in life is how can we strike the balance between the two opposite forces. Again, like the coin, the two forces need to be constantly moving, the moment as it stopped, one of the forces will dominate the other. So in life, we must keep ourselves moving. Our works, our love, our thoughts ........

Catwalk

Having my fifth solo show on the 18th February. Many things happened unexpectedly. Firstly is of course the show itself. I thought I have sufficient works to hang for the exhibition, the truth is Allan's new gallery is bigger that I expected. In the end, I have to prepare additional works for the show.

Just three weeks before the show, Raymond confirmed that he is taking my works to exhibit in Hong Kong. Together with the solo show, the number of works that I required to prepare went up by quite a bit. To my suprise, the US gallery also confirmed the purchase of 2 pieces of my works. In the end, I am overwhelmed with the works that I did not expect in the first place.

However, all these are happy "problem". It's a new year and it is a very good beginning for me! I am a happy man with happy "problem".

Happy Lunar New Year!

It's already the year of the Rabbit! Time flies. Before you really feel it, much of it is gone!

For the past months, I freed myself from other chores and thought that I will have more time on my work. Very often, the result is reversed. There are always so much for me to do and so little time available. I hope that this year I am able to focus on my art and able to produce greater works.

For the past one year, I am happy that the National art Gallery, Singapore collected five pieces of my paintings. The beginning of this year, a gallery approached me and willingly to bring my works overseas. This is really a good start, I sincerely hope it will last.

Happy Lunar New Year to all!
